What would you do if you knew you only had a 48 hour ‘leash’ on life this side of Heaven?

Hopefully you would #MakeYourDashCount!!

That’s what I did.

And if you’re loved a whole lot like me and give a whole lotta love like me, you’d have early Halloween paw’ties with all your fur-ever friends. You’d go for long car rides with your head held high, scooping the loop, sniffing all the way home to make sure you passed all your favorite parks and hot spots.

You’d get offered all the treats and meats until your tummy could handle no more. You’d smell the fresh cut grass and rest your head near the water fountain. You’d watch your favorite movie, “A Dog’s Way Home” and growl at the talent.

You’d even give tons of snuggles and kisses – but getting them back is truly the best part of all. You’d hear all your favorite stories whispered in your ear and reminisce the good old days gone by way too soon.

You’d shed oh so many tears from all the memories in your years – from the good and the bad to the perfect and the sad. And then, when the time is just right, the Angels like my sweetest Dean Blixt, move quick in the night and fast as this life can’t last. Their energy takes full charge, filling the room in a way so very large you can’t miss their presence for our lives are like Presents.

They’ve prepared my Goodbye as a tear in my eye falls from this face, for I must now leave this place. Yet before I go – I leave the best part – a piece of my heart for when I depart.

It’s my greatest gift to you … it’s the very best of me … while I take the very best of you … to hold forever … along with me.
