Wow! I can’t believe how life works in such mysterious ways.  My friends, who live in upstate New York, have been raising money for the past two years to help build a school in Ghana, Africa.  They have finally raised enough money to make the trek to the Sankofa Orphanage this summer.   I plan to go as a volunteer on the project.

For me, volunteering at an orphanage has been a life-long dream.  Having been a flight attendant, I did have the opportunity to travel to Narobi, Kenya.  Safari Adventure and all.   However, I don’t think too many things will bring me as much joy as having the opportunity to offer hope and to love on children in one of the poorest nations in the world.

My friends tried to make the trip work a couple of different times over the past two years.  With my dad battling prostate cancer during this same time, I accepted the fact that I might not be able to make this amazing  journey with them.  Spending as much time with my dad as I could, when I could, was my top priority.

Since his passing, I feel his presence in this journey and I trust the timing in everything.  So, as I begin to prepare for a life changing mission, I go forth with gratitude for the many blessings all around my world helping to make a dream come true.
