Looking back one year, ten months and this Thanksgiving day since you’ve been gone seems so ironic.
I feel as if I have aged ten years since we last saw one another. The reality of life now is an outcome I never planned to take as we always said we signed up to be with each other till the end. Yet looking at photos and videos of you, seeing so much Life, recalling so many memories in ways seems just a mere ten minutes have gone by. Even still the clock ticks time without you in it. Seconds… minutes…hours… days….months… eventually it will be years. Oh, dear God, I pray that I never forget your sweet face, your familiar voice, or YOU.
Good grief! Did you truly hit the Jackpot, earning the ultimate vacation destination? Now living a new life with all the whistles and bells? Even from the very first moments I continue to come across what some might call lucky 777s showing up in my path since you have taken flight! They have been the total on receipts, including the very first transaction from Subway restaurant moments before I found out your fate. I see 777s on license plates, signs at just the right timing, even my new ATM card arrived this month with 777s on it. I even had a 777 casino win on the penny slots in Puerto Rico during a hotel layover which, of course, I reinvested back to the machine, cashing out on only 7 cents. How appropriate I would even work the 777 aircraft my first flight back to work after you left on your own first class ticket to Paradise.
So far, I try to keep pace with life only by the Grace of God and thanks to my beautiful family, so many sweet friends, caring co-workers, even acquaintances and the countless YouTube videos with step by step instructions on how to tackle all the things I took for granted at home, the things that you used to do to help make my life easier. Thank you for all you did to keep me happy! I’m so grateful for you, Dean Blixt. I’m not sure I will ever feel I told you enough how much I appreciate you and all you did for me to make my life better. Just know I am forever grateful to the Universe for bringing you to me even if only for a short while. It sure was fun while it lasted! What a blessing you have been making me the luckiest one all along!
