While walking my dogs tonight, thinking sometimes God’s choice upon my altered reality feels more like a punishment. Trying not to ask “Why?”, rather “What? What do you want from me?”. As you always have my attention, I’m listening! And to my surprise the answer came loud and clear among the stars!
For I had just grabbed the mail ready to head inside about *8:15 pm and to my amazement I saw a huge meteor – a shooting star – it came from way up high; it was an end of an era from billions of years back in time. It was so big and streamed so bright, glowing like a fireball, free falling from the sky yet dimming right before my eyes. It was beautiful – a spectacular sight to behold, and a reminder how fast life – like stars – can be extinguished in an instant. Just like this special shooting star. Almost as if it was sent burning, waiting its whole life for this moment, just in time for me to see. It has been doing a stellar job creating its bright light for so many years and here it was on this night like clockwork, answering my prayer, like it knew its purpose as it made its debut offering wonder and one stellar, encore performance in it’s final curtain call, taking one last bow as it moved out of sight, stage left, still shining bright like a diamond one last time before shouting at me to do the same. It was waving goodbye. Wishing me well, just before it had to fade forever to black.
We are like stars! We are made of the very elements the stars contain. And no matter what the journey just as this Stellar Star showed me tonight, I realize we must all continue to be a lamp no matter what life brings, to light the way and burn bright not only for ourselves but for each other, just as we were made to do. Just like the stars we must continue to Twinkle until our own light shines bright no more! No matter what! After all…We Are Stardust! And you never know who might just need to catch a glimpse before we too must wave goodbye.
